Who We Are

What We Collect

1. Account Information

When you sign in (via Google or another provider), we receive and store:

  • Your email address
  • Your display name
  • Your profile photo

You may also optionally connect a Discord username, which is stored only if you choose to link it.

2. Game Data

When you play SixGuess, we store your results so you can track your stats over time. This includes:

  • The puzzle date and puzzle number
  • Whether you solved it (win/loss)
  • Your guesses and the number of guesses used
  • Whether you played in Hard Mode
  • How long it took you to complete the puzzle

This data is tied to your account and used to power your personal stats, streaks, leaderboards, and group features.

3. Analytics

To understand how the game is being used and improve the experience, we collect basic session data for all visitors (signed in or not), including:

  • Country, region, and city (derived from IP, not stored long-term)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • The page or source that referred you to SixGuess

This data is anonymous by default and is used solely for understanding traffic and improving the app. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or sell it to anyone.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data for one purpose: making SixGuess work for you. Specifically:

  • Powering your personal stats, win streaks, and history
  • Displaying leaderboards and group competitions
  • Sending in-app notifications relevant to your circles or game activity
  • Improving app performance and fixing bugs based on usage patterns

That's it. We are not in the business of monetizing your information.

What We Don't Do

  • ✗We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
  • ✗We do not share your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
  • ✗We do not run ads on SixGuess.
  • ✗We do not use your data to build profiles for advertising purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a hosted database platform with industry-standard security practices. We use row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible to you and the parts of the app that need it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we have on you
  • Delete your account and associated data at any time

Children's Privacy

SixGuess is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and note it in the app. Continued use of SixGuess after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
